Marquitta Henry, affectionately known as “Ms. M,” is the owner and founder of Spoken Minds Counseling & Consulting LLC. With over a decade of experience in various therapeutic settings, she holds dual licensures for professional counseling in Texas (with supervisor status) and Georgia and is also a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor. A proud alumna of Tennessee State University, Ms. M earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology while completing her practicum at the Lloyd C. Elam Mental Health Center at Meharry Medical College. Her early career included serving extensively at Alive Hospice as a volunteer grief counselor for children and adolescents and taking on a leadership role as a Lead Mental Health Specialist at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital.
Throughout her professional journey, Ms. M has cultivated a holistic perspective on mental health care, shaped by her diverse roles in healthcare, including case management, pharmacy, optical specialties, and behavioral clinical quality compliance for individuals on the autism spectrum. Recognizing the societal and environmental factors that often silence mental health struggles and perpetuate negative stigmas, Ms. M was inspired to create Spoken Minds Counseling & Consulting LLC. This practice is dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible, and flexible mental health services for clients in Texas and Georgia.
At Spoken Minds, Ms. M empowers clients by building on their strengths and addressing areas of growth. The practice offers a warm and welcoming environment where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Collaborating closely with clients, Ms. M develops customized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs, whether they are navigating grief, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges. Spoken Minds is here to guide individuals on their path to mental wellness, helping them thrive and achieve a healthier, more balanced life.
